Sterling Silver

All Memori pieces are made in solid 925 sterling silver. Over time, sterling darkens as it reacts with air, moisture, and everyday products. This is called tarnish, and it is completely normal. Regular wear and gentle cleaning keep it bright.

Cleaning

1. Polish with a silver clothFor everyday dullness, rub gently with a silver polishing cloth, using straight back-and-forth strokes rather than circles.
2. Wash when neededFor a deeper clean, soak briefly in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap, then rinse well. A very soft brush can reach small details if you use light pressure.
3. Dry completelyPat dry with a soft cotton cloth, then let the piece lie flat to air-dry, ideally overnight, before putting it away. Moisture speeds up tarnish.

Storage

Store each piece on its own in its Memori box or pouch so it can’t scratch against other jewelry. If you won’t be wearing it for a while, place it in a small airtight bag first. Less air means less tarnish. Keep it somewhere cool and dry, away from bathrooms and direct sunlight.

Impression Pieces

The fingerprint or nose print on your piece is made of tiny ridges in the silver. With a little care, those lines will stay clear for years.

• Avoid rubbing the print. Try not to run the impression between your fingers or let it rub against other rings or pendants. Over time, friction softens fine detail.
• Polish lightly over the print. When using a polishing cloth, focus on the smooth areas and pass gently over the impression rather than scrubbing it.
• Take rings off for hard work. Remove rings for the gym, gardening, or heavy lifting, where the surface can be scraped against hard objects.
• Stacking. If you wear your Memori piece next to other rings or pendants, give it a little space so the prints aren’t constantly rubbing.

Each ring is designed individually around your impressions, so resizing afterward is very difficult. If your piece ever needs attention, please contact us before taking it to another jeweler. Repairs by anyone other than Memori may affect your warranty.

Fine Chains

Our 1 mm sterling silver cable chain is delicate. To keep it from stretching or snapping:

• Remove it before sleeping, exercising, or swimming.
• Open and close the clasp with both hands, and adjust the length gently. Try not to pull the chain over your head.
• Store it fastened and lying flat so it doesn’t knot. If it does tangle, use a pin to tease the knot loose rather than pulling.
• Clean it the same way as your other sterling silver.

Pearls

Pearls are organic and much softer than metal or gemstones, so they need gentle care. Each One-of-One pearl is set in sterling silver, so treat the pearl and the silver differently.

Wear

Put pearls on last, after makeup, perfume, lotion, and hairspray, and take them off first. Wearing them often is good for them, just not while sleeping, showering, or exercising.

Clean

After each wear, wipe the pearl with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then let it dry. Never soak pearls, and never use ultrasonic or steam cleaners.

The silver

Keep silver polish and polishing cloths away from the pearl, because they can dull its surface. Polish only the metal, carefully.

Store

Keep your necklace in its box or a soft fabric pouch, on its own so harder pieces can’t scratch the pearl. Avoid airtight plastic bags for pearls, since they need a little air.

Check

Every so often, look at the setting to make sure the pearl is secure. If anything feels loose, stop wearing it and contact us.
